Hound Dog
words & music by jerry leiber - mike stoller
You aint nothin but a hound dog
Cryin all the time.
You aint nothin but a hound dog
Cryin all the time.
Well, you aint never caught a rabbit
And you aint no friend of mine.

When they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
When they said you was high classed,
Well, that was just a lie.
You aint never caught a rabbit
And you aint no friend of mine.
Blue Suede Shoes
words & music by carl perkins
Well, its one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, cat, go.

But dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.

Well, you can knock me down,
Step in my face,
Slander my name
All over the place.

Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.

You can burn my house,
Steal my car,
Drink my liquor
From an old fruitjar.

Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.

I'm All Shook Up Lyrics:
A well I bless my soul
What's wrong with me?
I'm itching like a man on a fuzzy tree
My friends say I'm actin' WIRED* as a bug
I'm in love
I'm all shook up
Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah!
My hands are shaky and my knees are weak
I can't seem to stand on my own two feet
Who do you thank when you have such luck?
I'm in love
I'm all shook up
Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah!

Please don't ask me what's on my mind
I'm a little mixed up, but I'm feelin' fine
When I'm near that girl that I love best
My heart beats so it scares me to death!

She touched my hand what a chill I got
Her LIPS* are like a volcano that's hot
I'm proud to say she's my buttercup
I'm in love
I'm all shook up
Mm mm oh, oh, yeah, yeah!

My tongue get tied when I try to speak
My insides shake like a leaf on a tree
There's only one cure for this BODY* of mine
That's to have the girl that I love so fine!

In The Ghetto:
words & music by scott davis
As the snow flies
On a cold and gray chicago mornin
A poor little baby child is born
In the ghetto
And his mama cries
cause if theres one thing that she dont need
Its another hungry mouth to feed
In the ghetto

People, dont you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or hell grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see,
Do we simply turn our heads
And look the other way

Well the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto

And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal
And he learns how to fight
In the ghetto

Then one night in desperation
A young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car,
Tries to run, but he dont get far
And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
In the ghetto

As her young man dies,
On a cold and gray chicago mornin,
Another little baby child is born
In the ghetto

The Wonder Of You:
When no-one else can understand me
When everything I do is wrong
You give me hope and consolation
You give me strength to carry on

And you're always there to lend a hand
In everything I do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you

And when you smile the world is brighter
You touch my hand and I'm a king
Your kiss to me is worth a fortune
Your love for me is everything

I'll guess I'll never know the reason why
You love me like you do
That's the wonder
The wonder of you

Elvis Presley - Return To Sender -recomendado-

I gave a letter to the postman,
he put it his sack.
Bright in early next morning,
he brought my letter back.

She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.
We had a quarrel, a lover's spat
I write I'm sorry but my letter keeps coming back.

So then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D.
Bright in early next morning
it came right back to me.

She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such person, no such so.

This time I'm gonna take it myself
and put it right in her hand.
And if it comes back the very next day
then I'll understand - the writing on it

Return to sender, address unknown.
No such number, no such zone.

Rock a Hula Baby!

Elvis Presley It Hurts Me

Elvis Presley It Hurts Me
Written by Joy Byers and Charlie Daniels, although many record labels credit only Byers. Elvis recorded it January 12, 1964 at RCA's Nashville studios. The single reached #29 on Billboard's Hot 100 Charts during its 7 week stay. It was the B-side to Kissin' Cousins. Elvis recorded it again for the "Guitar Man" segment of the 1968 TV Special on June 30, 1968.
This song is available on The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits; Elvis Golden Record Vol. 4; Artist of the Century; The 50 Greatest Love Songs, Heart and Soul; From Nashville to Memphis-The Essential 60s Masters, and The Very Best of Love, which is where this version is from.

It hurts me to see him treat you the way that he does
It hurts me to see you sit and cry
When I know I could be so true
If I had someone like you
It hurts me to see those tears in your eyes

The whole town is talking, they're callin' you a fool
For listening to his same old lies
And when I know I could be so true
If I had someone like you
It hurts me to see the way he makes you cry

You love him so much, you're too blind to see
He's only playing a game
He's never loved you
And he never will
And darling, don't you know he'll never change

I know that he never will set you free
Because he's just that kind of guy
But if you ever tell him you're through
I'll be waiting for you
Waiting to hold you so tight
Waiting to kiss you goodnight
Yes, darling, if I had someone like you

Elvis - Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello

..
Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello
(Words & music by Leiber - Stoller)

She's sitting right over there
I'd know that face anywhere
I'd run up and embrace her
But I'm ashamed to face her
Just tell her Jim said hello

I'd like to pour out my heart
But I don't know where to start
I'd like to tell her
What I'm really feeling but
Just tell her Jim said hello

Just tell her Jim said hello
Just tell her Jim and she'll know

Don't tell her I'm feeling blue
That's just between me and you
Don't say I'm thinking of her
Don't tell her I still love her
Just tell her Jim said hello

Just tell her Jim said hello
Just tell her Jim said hello

Elvis Presley I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone

Elvis Presley I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone
Written by Stanley Kesler and Bill Taylor. Elvis recorded it December 18, 1954 at Sun Records. Scotty Moore and bill Black are also on the recording. Neither the Sun or the RCA release charted. It was the B-side to Baby, Let's Play House. It is available on The Complete Sun Sessions and The King of Rock and Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, which is where this version is from. There is also a slower bluesier version on the same compilation. Alternate takes are available on the The Sun Sessions CD-Commemorative Issue.

Well, you're right, i'm left, she's gone.
You're right, and i'm left all alone.
Well, you tried to tell me so,
But how was i to know
That she was not the one for me?

You told me all along,
You're right, our love was so wrong.
But now i changed my mind,
Because she broke the ties that bind,
And i know that she never cared for me.

Well, i thought i knew just what she'd do,
I guess i'm not so smart.
Oh, you tried to tell me along she'd only break my heart.
I'm left, you're right, she's gone.
You're right, and i'm left all alone.

Well, she's gone i know not where,
But now i just don't care.
For now i'm falling for you.

If you'll forgive me now,
I'll make it up somehow.
So happy we will be,
In a home just for three,
And i'll soon forget her,
Now i know.

Well, i thought i knew just what she'd do,
I guess i'm not so smart.
You tried to tell me all along,
She'd only break my heart.

Well, you're right, i'm left, she's gone.
You're right, and i'm left all alone.
Well, she's gone, i know not where,
But now i just don't care,
For now i've fallen for you

Elvis Presley Playing for Keeps

Elvis Presley Playing for Keeps

Recorded September 1, 1956 at Radio Recorders. It reached #34 on the Billboard's Top 100 chart and #8 on the Country Juke Box chart.

Written by Stanley A. Kesler

I'm playin' for keeps
This time it's real
And I want you to know
Exactly how I feel
I'm playin' for keeps
For sure this time
And I won't be happy
Until I know you're mine

There have been others
That could love me true
But no one else can thrill me like you do
I'm playing for keeps
Oh love me too
Oh, don't make me sorry
That, that I fell in love with you

There have been others
That could love me true
But no one else can thrill me like you do
I'm playing for keeps
Oh love me too
Oh, don't make me sorry
That I fell in love with you

Elvis Presley Poor Boy

Elvis Presley Poor Boy
Vera Matson and Elvis are credited with writing this song, but it was actually written by Vera's husband, Ken Darby, who was the musical director for the film. It was recorded either August 2 or September 24, 1956 at Radio Recorders. It was featured in the movie Love Me Tender. The movie version had hand clapping and girls screaming. Based on its appearance in th EP Love Me Tender, it reached #35 on Billboard's Top 100 chart and had an 11-week stay.

They call me poor boy, poor boy, poor boy
But I ain't lonesome and I ain't blue
'Cause I could never be a poor boy
As long as I've got a dolly like you

Ain't got a crust, ain't got a cent
Can't buy a jug, can't pay the rent
I got a heart full of dreams
And a lot of memories
And that's enough for me

They call me poor boy, poor boy, poor boy
But I ain't lonesome and I ain't blue
'Cause I could never be a poor boy
As long as I've got a dolly like you

Can't buy a house, can't buy a lot
Ain't got a bean, I ain't got a pot
But what I got is a heart full of
Love and memories
And that's enough for me

They call me poor boy, poor boy, poor boy
But I ain't lonesome and I ain't blue
'Cause I could never be a poor boy
As long as I've got a dolly like you

Don't have a pig, don't have a cow
I don't have a horse to pull a plow
But what I got is a heart full of
Love and memories
And that's enough for me
They call me poor boy, poor boy, poor boy
But I ain't lonesome and I ain't blue
'Cause I could never be a poor boy
As long as I've got a dolly like
I've got a dolly like,
I've got a dolly like you

(Now and then there's a fool such as I)
Pardon me, if I'm sentimental
When we say goodbye
Don't be angry with me should I cry
When you're gone, yes I'll dream
A little dream as years go by
Now and then there's a fool such as I

Now and then there's a fool such as I am over you
You taught me how to love
And now you say that we are through
I'm a fool, but I'll love you dear
Until the day I die
Now and then there's a fool such as I

There's just one thing
Dear before we start
Don't say you care
Then break my heart

When you speak of love
Please be sincere
For if you play with love
It can bring tears my dear

My wish came true
To my surprise
When you stood there before my eyes

And when my heart
Started beating fast
T'was then I knew
I found true love at last

Holy smoke
A land sakes alive!
I never thought this could happen to me

Mm, yeah! Mm, yeah!

I got stung by a sweet honey bee
Oh, what a feeling come over me
It started in my eyes
Crept up to my head
Flew to my heart
Till I was stung dead
I'm done, uh-uh
I got stung!

Mm, yeah! Mm, yeah!

She had all that I wanted and more
And I've seen honey bees before
Started buzzin' in my ear
Buzzin' in my brain
Got stung all over
But I feel no pain
I'm done, uh-uh
I got stung!

Now, don't think I'm complainin'
I'm might pleased we met
'Cause you give me just one little peck
On the back of my neck
And I break out in a cold cold sweat
Well If I live to a hundred and two
I won't let nobody sting me but you
I'll be buzzin' 'round your hive
Ev'ry day at five
And I'm never gonna leave once I arrive
'Cause I'm done
Uh-uh, I got stung!

Recorded February 1957 at Radio Recorders

(words & music by jerry leiber - mike stoller)
I will spend my whole life through
Loving you, just loving you.
Winter, summer, spring-time, too,
Loving you, loving you.
Makes no difference where I go or what I may do.
You know that I'll always be loving you.
Just you and,
If I'm seen with someone new,
Don't be blue, don't you be blue.
I'll be faithful I'll be true;
Always true, true to you.
There is only one for me, and you know who.
You know that I'll always be loving you

Elvis Presley -Lonesome Cowboy

Elvis Presley Lonesome Cowboy
Written by Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett. Elvis recorded it in February 1957 at Radio Recorders. It was featured in Elvis's second film, Loving You. It is on the Loving You CD and The King of Rock and Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, which is where this version is from.

I am just a lonesome cowboy
And I'm travelling all alone
I ain't even got a nickel
To call my baby on the phone

Just beyond the mountain lies a city
And I hear it calling me
Saddle up and ride you lonesome cowboy
Here is where you'll find your destiny
In my dreams the lights shine bright and pretty
Near to me and yet so far
Will I always be a lonesome cowboy
Am I only reaching for a star

Ride. Ride, ride, cowboy cowboy
Sing, sing, sing, cowboy cowboy

Will I ever leave this lonesome valley
Really see the lights that shine
Gotta find what lies beyond the mountain
Gotta rope and tie that dream of mine

I am just a lonesome cowboy
And I'm travelling all alone
If you don't call me baby
Then I'm never coming home
Then I'm never coming home

Elvis Presley-I Need You So

Elvis Presley-I Need You So

Recorded February 23, 1957 at Radio Recorders. On the Loving You LP.

words & music by Ivory Joe Hunter

I need you so
To keep me happy
If i can't have you
I cannot go on

I need your arms
Around me tightly
Yes, i miss them nightly
When you're not at home

When the day is done
I miss you so
I lie and wait
To hear you knock on the door

When you leave me
I try not to worry
Come back in a hurry
'cause i need you so

When the day is done
I miss you so
I lie and wait
To hear you knock on the door

When you leave me
I try not to worry
Come back in a hurry
'cause i need you so

I don't want my heart to be broken
Cause it's the only one I've got
So darling please be careful
You know I care a lot
Darling please don't break my heart
I beg of you

I don't want no tears a-falling
You know I hate to cry
But that's what's bound to happen
If you say goodbye
Darling please don't say goodbye
I beg of you

Hold my hand and promise
That you'll always love me true
Make me know you'll love me
The same way I love you little girl

You got me at your mercy
Now that I'm in love with you
So please don't take advantage
Cause you know my love is true
Darling please please love me too
I beg of you

Hold my hand and promise
That you'll always love me true
Make me know you love me
The same way I love you little girl

You got me at your mercy
Now that I'm in love with you
So please don't take advantage
Cause you know my love is true
Darling please please love me too
I beg of you

Elvis Presley - Is It So Strange

A picture compilation :)
Hope you don't mind the laughing at the end, hehe
-------------------------
(words & music by faron young)
Oh, if you tell a lie
You know that I'll forgive you
Though you say our love is just a game
And when you hear my name
You'll say I'm from a strange world
But is it so strange to be in love with you

Is it so strange
That I love you more than all the world
Is it so strange
I have no eyes for any other girl

Oh wont you take me back
And say that you still love me
To waste a love like ours would be a sin
Let us kiss again
Let me hold you near
And take me from this strange world
That I'm living in

Elvis Presley Mean Woman Blues

Elvis Presley Mean Woman Blues
Written by Claude DeMetrius. Elvis recorded it January 13, 1957 at Radio Recorders. It was featured in the 1957 movie Loving You. It reached #11 on the Country Disc Jockey Chart. It was the B-side to Have I Told You Lately That I Love You.

I got a woman,
Mean as she can be
I got a woman,
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me

A black cat up and died of fright
'Cause she crossed his path last night
I got a woman
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me

She kissed so hard, she bruised my lips
Hurts so good, my heart just flips
I got a woman
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me

The strangest gal I ever had
Never happy 'less she's mad
I got a woman
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me

She makes love without a smile
Ooh, hot dog that drives me wild
I got a woman
Mean as she can be
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me
Sometimes I think
She's almost mean as me

LOVING YOU (LP)
in movie Loving You

Recorded: Radio Recorders, Hollywood, January 1957

(words & music by scott wiseman)
Have I told you lately that I love you?
Could I tell you once again somehow?
Have I told with all my heart and soul how I adore you?
Well darling I'm telling you now

Have I told you lately when I'm sleeping
Every dream I dream is you somehow?
Have I told you why the nights are long
When you're not with me?
Well darling I'm telling you now

My heart would break in two if I should lose you
I'm no good without you anyhow
Yeah have I told you lately that I love you
Well darling I'm telling you now

My heart would break in two if I should lose you
I'm no good without you anyhow
Well have I told you lately that I love you
Well darling I'm telling you now
Well darling I'm telling you now

Got A Lot O' Livin' to Do - Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley - Don't Leave Me Now

Elvis Presley - Don't Leave Me Now (colour)
from the motion picture "Jailhouse Rock" 1957
(words & music by aaron schroeder - ben weisman)
Don't leave me now
Now that I need you
How blue and lonely I'd be
If you should say we're through

Don't break my heart
This heart that loves you
There'd just be nothing for me
If you should leave me now

What good is dreamin'
If I must dream all alone by myself
Without you darling
My arms would just gather dust
Like a book on a shelf

Come to these arms
These arms that need you
Don't close your eyes to my plea
Don't leave me now
Don't close your eyes to my plea
Don't leave me now

Elvis Presley-The Girl of My Best Friend

Recorded April 4, 1960 at RCA's Nashville studios. It is on the Elvis is Back LP

The way she walks,
The way she talks
How long can I pretend
Oh I can't help I'm in love
With the girl of my best friend

Her lovely hair,
Her skin so fair
I could go on and never end
Oh, I can't help I'm in love
With the girl of my best friend

I want to tell her
How I love her so
And hold her in my arms, but then
What if she got real mad and told him so
I could never face either one again

The way they kiss
Their happiness
Will my aching heart never end
Or will I always be in love
With the girl of my best friend?

Never end,
Will it ever end?
Please let it end

Elvis Presley She's Not You

Elvis Presley She's Not You

Elvis Gold Records Volume #3 LP

Recorded March 19, 1962 at RCA Studios in Nashville, TN.

(Jerry Leiber - Mike Stoller - Doc Pomus)
Her hair is soft and her eyes are oh so blue
She's all the things a girl should be,
but she's not you.

She knows just how to make me laugh when I feel blue
She's ev'rything a man could want,
but she's not you.

And when we're dancing
It almost feels the same
I've got to stop myself from
Whisp'ring your name

She even kisses me like you used to do.
And it's just breaking my heart
'cause she's not you.

And its just breaking my heart cause she's not you (

Elvis Presley - VOA Story -recomendado-

For many people it is hard to believe that it has been 30 years [August 16th] since the death of rock-and-roll legend Elvis Presley. Every year, 600,000 people from around the world visit his home, Graceland, in the U.S. southern city of Memphis, Tennessee.

In the mid-1950s, Elvis Presley played a new kind of music, fusing country and rhythm-and-blues with a new rock-and-roll style. He swiveled his hips on stage, mimicking the moves of black entertainers. At first, many people did not know what to think about him. But it was not long before young people went crazy over his music and flocked to his concerts. Elvis became known as the king of rock and roll.

Bernard Lansky met Elvis when he was in high school. Lansky owned a clothing shop in an African-American neighborhood with clubs where black singers performed. Elvis would stop to admire the clothes in the window. One day Lansky asked him to come in.

Elvis wanted clothes that would make him stand out. Lansky gave the young man some clothes on credit. Soon after, Elvis sang on national television and became a star.

Elvis became a life-long customer. Lanksy made a coat to match Elvis' pink Cadillac and designed shirts for him in unusual color combinations -- shirts Lansky still sells today.

As rock music changed over the decades, Elvis adapted and had at least one top 40 hit on the music charts every year.

Despite his many hit songs, Elvis won only three American Grammy music awards -- all for gospel albums. At a young age Elvis began singing gospel music at church.

Elvis showcased his music in more from 30 films. Klein says although Elvis had a lucrative movie career, he hungered for better roles. "Halfway through Elvis's career he became disenchanted with his movies. And I'd ask him, 'What's the new movie about?' He'd say, 'Same story, different location. I beat up the guy, get the girl and sing 12 songs.' "

On August 16, 1977 Elvis Presley died at Graceland at the age of 42. He was buried in a white suit -- designed by Bernard Lansky. "And he was a gentlemen," said Lansky. "A real gentlemen."

About half the visitors to Graceland are under the age of 35 and were not even born when Elvis Presley died. His music is still immensely popular worldwide. If Elvis were alive today, he would be 72 years old, but to his fans he is forever young

La muerte del Rey Elvis-

¡¡Elvis vive!!

La verdad está ahí fuera.
Elvis Presley.

Esperamos vuestras noticias.

I Gotta Know

Elvis Presley I Gotta Know
Written by Paul Evans and Matt Williams. Elvis recorded it April 4, 1960 at RCA's Nashville Studios. The single released #20 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during its 11-week stay and became a million seller. It was the B-side to Are You Lonesome Tonight. It is available on Elvis' Golden Records Volume 3; Elvis: Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits; and From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60s Masters, which is where this version is from.

Get up in the mornin' feelin' mighty weak
A tossin' and a turnin' well, I had ain't had no sleep
Oh baby, what road's our love taking?
To romance or heartbreaking'
Won't you say which way you're gonna go
I gotta know, gotta know, gotta know

Nine and nine make fourteen, four and four make nine
The clock is strikin' thirteen I think I lost my mind
You know it's gettin' aggravatin'
How long can I keep waitin'
Tell me if you love me yes or no,
I gotta know, gotta know, gotta know

Oh, how much I need you
Have pity on this heart of mine
Well, if you need and want me too,
I'll be your one and only till the end of time

Saw the fortune teller, had my fortune read
She sent me to the doctor, who sent me straight to bed
He said I'm lonesome and I'm lovesick
I've got my mind on lipstick
Will you kiss away my cares and woe?
I gotta know, gotta know, gotta know

Oh, how much I need you
Have pity on this heart of mine
Well, if you need and want me too,
I'll be your one and only till the end of time

Saw the fortune teller, had my fortune read
She sent me to the doctor, who sent me straight to bed
He said I'm lonesome and I'm lovesick
I've got my mind on lipstick
Will you kiss away my cares and woe?
I gotta know, gotta know, gotta know
